1. Resin type artificial stone
Resin based artificial stone is made by using unsaturated polyester resin as a binder, combined with natural marble, quartz sand, calcite, stone powder or other inorganic fillers in a certain proportion, and then adding catalysts, curing agents, pigments and other additives. It is processed through mixing and stirring, solidification molding, demolding and drying, surface polishing and other processes. Products using unsaturated polyester have good luster, vivid and rich colors, strong processability, and good decorative effects; This resin has low viscosity, is easy to form, and can cure at room temperature. The molding methods include vibration molding, compression molding, and extrusion molding. The artificial stone used in indoor decoration engineering is mainly resin type.
2. Composite artificial stone
The adhesive used in composite artificial stone includes both inorganic materials and organic polymer materials. The production process of composite artificial stone is to first use cement, stone powder, and other materials to make cement mortar bodies, and then immerse the bodies in organic monomers to polymerize under certain conditions. For the board, the bottom layer is made of stable and inexpensive inorganic materials, and the surface layer is made of polyester and marble powder. Inorganic bonding materials can be used such as fast hardening cement, white cement, ordinary Portland cement, aluminate cement, fly ash cement, slag cement, and gypsum. Organic monomers can be used such as styrene, methyl methacrylate, vinyl acetate, acrylonitrile, butadiene, etc. These monomers can be used alone or in combination. Composite artificial stone products have a lower cost, but they are prone to peeling or cracking on the polyester surface due to temperature differences.
3. Cement type artificial stone
Cement based artificial stone is a type of artificial stone made from various types of cement as the bonding material, sand and natural crushed stone particles as coarse and fine aggregates, which are prepared, stirred, pressurized steam cured, polished and polished. During the preparation process, mixed with pigments, colored cement stones can be made. The production of cement-based stone is convenient and cost-effective, but its decorative properties are poor. Terrazzo and various flower terraced bricks belong to this category.
4. Sintered artificial stone
The production method of sintered artificial stone is similar to ceramic technology, which involves mixing feldspar, quartz, diabase, calcite and other powders with hematite powder, as well as a certain amount of aged soil. The general ratio is 60% stone powder and 40% clay. The raw materials are prepared by the mixing method, formed by semi dry pressing method, and then baked in a kiln at a high temperature of about 1000 ℃. Sintered artificial stone has good decorative properties and stable performance, but it needs to be baked at high temperatures, resulting in high energy consumption and high cost.
